Former UNC politician killed in crash
Former United National Congress alderman in the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Sookdeo Anand Bedaisee was killed in a crash today.
Bidaisee was the lone occupant of a car that crashed into a light pole along the Valencia Stretch. He died at the scene.
He was driving a Nissan Tiida.
Bedassie was appointed an alderman in the corporation in 2016. He held the position for several years.
In a post on social media today, alderman in the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Danielle Marshall-Piper mourned the death, writing: “My colleague, former Alderman Sookdeo Anand Bidaisee, died tragically in a road accident this morning. Even though we served on opposite sides of the political divide, we held the same belief.." At the end of the day, it is the people”. RIP my friend. I will never forget you”.
Bedaisee lived at Farm Road, Sangre Grande.
