Hon. Kindra Maturine-Stewart Pays Tribute to the Late Elvin Nimrod
It is with deep sadness that the Nation, and especially the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique mourn the passing on Saturday, February 6, 2021, of our beloved Mr. Elvin G. Nimrod. Mr. Nimrod was a man of, and for the people. He loved the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique dearly and dedicated more than nineteen unbroken years of selfless service to them. He once said publicly that he will die for the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique and we believed with all our hearts that he would have done so. He was deeply loved and respected by many. Mr. Nimrod was responsible for transforming the lives of the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique especially the youth. He provided us with many opportunities for personal growth and development and started an education revolution on the Islands. He was responsible for the rapid growth and development that Carriacou and Petite Martinique have experienced over the past 20 years. He also ensured that Carriacou and Petite Martinique received their fair share of the national pie. We are all proud of his achievements. Mr. Nimrod also instilled a sense of pride in us that will last for generations. As Parliamentary Representative for Carriacou and Martinique, he gave exceptional service, and his legacy is well documented in the many infrastructure projects undertaken during his tenure. One of his crowning achievements is the establishment of the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, which has enabled better representation and administration of the affairs of the people of the constituency. He was a giant, a gentle and loving soul, a great Ambassador, a patriot, a generous son of the soil, a humble human being. We will miss his wisdom, his strength, and his political astuteness. I personally thank Mr. Nimrod for his guidance, counsel, and the support that he has given to me, all of which have ensured my success and the success of the New National Party in the 2018 General Elections in Carriacou and Petite Martinique. May our dear friend and brother, Mr. Elvin G. Nimrod rest in peace with the Lord.
